Carly, thank you so much for taking the time to write and share this.
There is a deep beauty in the way you are choosing to live, and I thank God that you've neighbours who choose the same. Truly, all of us need real, life-giving community. I'm glad you have it where you are -- and it even sounds like you may have it better than the majority of us, who still spend more time in front of the little glass mirrors having our own opinions parroted back at us, rather than looking in the eyes of our neighbours and holding honest conversation.
Thank you, Joel. I thank God too that we have found ourselves among such a community. It sadly seems to be a rare thing these days, as if the more "connected" we all are the more disconnected we've become from real, honest, human connection. We are very fortunate to find it.
Very fortunate indeed. It seems to me that those who truly value such connection, who have the courage to seek it out, do indeed find others who desire it too.
This is so true, and not only in the people we find ourselves with, but in all aspects of life I think. When we live with intention we attract into our lives that which we truly believe in. “Ask, and you shall receive.”
I find myself asking at times the inverse of that also; when I find myself living a life I really don't want to live, is it simply because I've been seeking the wrong way? For myself, that is usually the case.

Yes, I find this is also true, and often challenging!
