Thank you, Paola. It's so still, crisp and beautiful this morning with the sun out and blue sky, yesterday's snow still on the ground, hard to imagine a storm is coming but we're getting prepared anyway!

All hands on deck! Here in Athlone the snow is already melting, I hope it doesn't freeze over where you are x

Most of us don't realise about the hardships of running a farm and tending livestock, you have some tough decisions to make and I guess that each day you must feel exhausted from all this work.

Yes, there is so much about farming that people don't understand until they live and experience it. Exhausted but usually satisfied and content, in the way that only hard work brings!

Hi Carly, it all seems so idyllic in the summer months. I hope you will be warm and dry this winter in your new home. I am so in awe of what you do. The weather is always wet here too, it's why we have so many lakes, but it's been particularly so, everything seems so damp and mouldy, and I'm always amazed at how much water the land can take in and hold. Sending hugs to you... snd the goats, sheep, ducks and geese, hope I didn't leave anyone out! 💕

Yes, damp and mouldy, even though it’s been relatively dry this year until this week. Always a last minute panic to get everything set for winter, but we’ll get there! Thank you, Ali 🤗xx

This is so good, Carly. I'm going to print this one out and give it a slow read at home. Thank you for writing. Adam

I had to forgo breeding this year, as well, to help balance out the number of sheep to available pasture. It’s a sacrifice exchanging my hard earned cash for tons of expensive hay, but working with the wool and eating a beautiful roast during the long winter months definitely helps!
